RU-58&41 is an experimental topical anti-androgen compound used for hair loss treatment. It is a non-steroidal anti-androgen developed by a French pharmaceutical company in the 1980s and is most commonly used as a topical solution applied to the scalp

It works by blocking androgen receptors in the scap. This prevents DHT (dihydrotestosterone) the hormone responsible for male pattern baldness from attaching to hair follicles. Unlike drugs like finasteride, it does not reduce DHT production, it only blocks its action locally
