SR-9011
SR-9011 is a synthetic research chemical and a potent agonist of the Rev-ErbA nuclear receptors. It was developed by Professor Thomas Burris at Scripps Research Institute as an improved version of SR-9009 with better bioavailability, meaning it is more effectively absorbed by the body
SR-9011 is not a selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM), despite common misconceptions, but a Rev-ErbA agonist that modulates the body’s circadian rhythm and metabolism
SR-9011 binds to Rev-ErbA receptors, which are found in tissues like the liver, skeletal muscle, fat, and brain. It influences gene expression related to lipid and glucose metabolism, circadian rhythm regulation, and energy homeostasis
Metabolic Benefits: Increases basal oxygen consumption, enhances fat and glucose oxidation in skeletal muscle, reduces lipogenesis (fat storage), and decreases cholesterol and bile acid synthesis in the liver. Studies in mice showed weight loss and improved lipid and glucose profiles
Circadian Rhythm Regulation: Modulates the body’s internal clock, potentially improving sleep patterns and energy regulation
Anticancer Potential: Demonstrates selective lethality to cancer cells (e.g., breast, colon, leukemia, melanoma, and brain cancer) and oncogene-induced senescent cells without affecting normal cells
Exercise Mimetic: Enhances endurance and mitochondrial content in skeletal muscle, often described as a “workout in a pill.” Studies have shown a 50% increase in running capacity
Anti-inflammatory Effects: Reduces pro-inflammatory cytokine expression and enhances anti-inflammatory cytokine expression in microglia, potentially aiding in neuroinflammatory and metabolic disease treatment
