GW-501516 (Cardarine)

GW-501516 know as Cardarine is a synthetic compound developed in the 1990s

It is a peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor delta (PPARδ) agonist, not a selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM), despite often being mistakenly categorized as one

Initially Cardarine was researched for its potential to treat metabolic and cardiovascular diseases, such as obesity, diabetes, and dyslipidemia, by enhancing fatty acid oxidation and improving energy metabolism in cells

GW-501516 activates PPARδ receptors, which are abundant in muscle cells. This activation promotes fat burning by shifting the body’s energy preference from glucose to lipids, enhances endurance, and may improve lipid profiles (e.g., increasing HDL cholesterol and reducing LDL cholesterol and triglycerides)

Research studies have shown significant improvements in physical performance, such as increased running time and distance in research participants

Research also suggests it may accelerate lipid breakdown and reduce fat storage, potentially aiding weight loss for research participants

Some studies have indicated improved cholesterol profiles, with HDL increases up to 16.9% and LDL reductions up to 7.3%

Lastly researchers have observed potential benefits for brain health (e.g., reducing inflammation in brain cells) and insulin sensitivity
